ELI Eco Logic International Inc.’s (Eco Logic) Gas Phase Chemical Reduction (GPCR) Process is “a

non-selective destruction technology capable of treating organic contaminants in a wide range of

matrices.” The GPCR Process uses high temperatures and hydrogen to reduce organic compounds

to methane and other low molecular weight hydrocarbons at temperatures of approximately 850oC

and ambient pressure. The process consists of a feed processing step, a reactor and product gas

treatment. Solid wastes are first processed in a Thermal Reduction Batch Processor (TRBP); liquid

wastes pass through a Liquid Waste Pre-heater System (LWPS) before entering the GPCR reactor.

The TRBP and LWPS volatilize the bulk of the material so that it can be destroyed in the GPCR

reactor. The TRBP operates in batch mode, while both the LWPS and GPCR

reactor are continuous operations. The acids produced are neutralized in a caustic scrubber and

form salts.
